‘Wine 2 You’ was established by Keith Morton in 1993 with two primary objectives:
1) To have fun finding and selling wines from France and Spain
2) To prove to himself that he could set up and run his own business.
Within 3 years both objectives had been achieved and it was time to think about what was different about ‘Wine 2 You’.
The major difference is about relationships:-
To our suppliers – we aim to deliver long-term commitments to our direct suppliers, who are all, like us, small to medium-sized enterprises and who take a personal interest in their products and their relationships with their customers.
To our customers – we want to be a reliable source of wines, advice, information, and, above all, a link to those suppliers themselves. The personality of the wine-maker is as important to get across as the taste of their product.
We deliberately choose to work with wine producers who are consistent in the quality of their wines, without creating homogenisation for its own sake. As a result we have imported directly from some excellent small producers in France, Spain and Italy. For wines from Australia, Chile and Argentina, for example, we sell a selection of wines imported by Walker and Woodhouse (Battle of Bosworth) and Jackson Nugent (Casa Silva and Don Cristobal). The picture at the top of this page is of Joch Bosworth and Louise Hemsley-Smith from Battle of Bosworth – they are more photogenic than us!
Over the years we have also been able to draw upon the knowledge and the friendship of Grier Palmer, now retired from Warwick Business School. His knowledge of Spain and of wine in general, as well as his business experience, is a considerable asset to us all.
‘Wine 2 You’ is about personal selection of quality wines from artisan producers, many of whom cultivate organically, so that you, the customer, end up with a product that has integrity, humanity and varying degrees of alcohol! The only thing we take seriously is the enjoyment of drinking wine.
We hope you enjoy making your personal selection from this website.
